A decision to explore fostering is a decision to positively impact the life of a child in need. We are always looking for loving people to open up their hearts and homes to children in the foster care system. We frequently turn away up to 80 children every month due to the lack of suitable foster homes. There is a great need for foster parents for all ages, especially sibling groups, school age children, and kids with medical needs.

Step 1 : Inquire

First, you must officially request an in-depth informational packet from us. You can do this by either filling out the online form at the bottom of this page or by calling us at 330.462.1118.
Step 2: Register for Prep Courses

We offer foster parent prep courses multiple times a year in various locations throughout north central Ohio. All licensed Encourage foster parents are generously compensated for time spent in training. Click here to learn where and when the next training will be held.
Step 3: Complete a Home Study

Finally, after you have completed training and submitted an application, a home study assessor will meet with you in your home to get to know your family and will assist you in preparing your home for foster kids. A home study typically takes three to six months to complete.
